Choosing the right lodging at Crystal Mountain Resort requires a clear understanding of value versus amenities. At Crystal Chalets, our one-bedroom condos are spread across three hillside buildings. While every condo shares the same original 1960s "efficiency" architectural footprint, they are individually owned and uniquely decorated. To help you navigate your booking, we have categorized our condos into four distinct pricing tiers based on the level of interior updates and total square footage.
Before you book, you must identify which category aligns with your budget and expectations. Use this guide to eliminate ambiguity and secure the condo that best fits your group’s needs.
MANDATORY CONDO AMENITIES: WHAT EVERY CONDO INCLUDES
Regardless of the category you select, every single condo at Crystal Chalets provides a baseline of mountain-essential features. You do not need to "upgrade" to access these core services:
- FULL KITCHEN: Every condo contains a full-size refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. All necessary cookware and utensils are provided. STOCK UP ON GROCERIES BEFORE ARRIVAL; there are no full-service grocery stores on the mountain.
- MOUNTAIN VIEWS: Every condo features a private balcony with direct views of the hillside or the resort.
- CONNECTIVITY: Free WiFi is included in all condos. Note that our remote mountain location may limit high-bandwidth streaming; prioritize your usage for essential communication.
- ENTERTAINMENT: A flat-screen TV with 48 channels of HDTV is standard in every living room.
- WALKABLE LOCATION: All condos are located in our three hillside buildings, just a short walk from the ski lifts, the Mt. Rainier Gondola, and village restaurants.
1. PREFERRED CONDOS: THE TOP-TIER CHOICE
BEST FOR: Families or couples who prioritize modern aesthetics and higher-quality furnishings.
Preferred condos are our most highly updated condos. These owners have invested significantly in modernizing the interior finishes to provide a contemporary mountain retreat.
- INTERIOR STANDARDS: You will find updated flooring (often high-end laminate or fresh carpet), modern cabinetry, and renovated bathrooms with contemporary fixtures.
- FURNISHINGS: Expect higher-quality mattresses, stylish sofas, and coordinated decor that moves away from the original 1960s aesthetic.
- PRICING: Typically starts at $299.00 PER NIGHT.
- PREPARATION: These condos book first. If you require a modern environment, BOOK AT LEAST 3-4 MONTHS IN ADVANCE for peak winter weekends.
2. LOFT CONDOS: MAXIMUM SPACE
BEST FOR: Larger families or groups of Ikon Pass holders who need additional sleeping capacity.
The Loft condos are the only category that deviates from the standard one-bedroom floor plan. These condos utilize the high ceilings of the top-floor condos to provide an additional sleeping area.
- SPACE ADVANTAGE: The inclusion of a loft significantly increases the usable square footage. These condos often feature a mix of queen beds, bunks, and trundles to maximize sleeping options.
- LAYOUT: Access to the loft is typically via a ladder or steep staircase. SUPERVISE CHILDREN AT ALL TIMES when utilizing loft spaces.
- PRICING: Prices vary but generally align with Preferred rates or slightly higher (approx. $339.00 PER NIGHT) due to the increased capacity.
- NOTE: Some Lofts are categorized as "Loft Preferred" if they have also undergone major modern renovations.
3. STANDARD CONDOS: THE BALANCED UTILITY
BEST FOR: Practical travelers who want the "home-away-from-home" experience without paying for premium decor.
Our Standard condos represent the classic Crystal Chalets experience. They are clean, functional, and well-maintained, but they lack the high-end finishes found in the Preferred category.
- INTERIOR STANDARDS: Furnishings are straightforward and functional. While the condo may have seen some updates over the years, the aesthetic is more traditional or "classic mountain."
- KITCHEN & BATH: Fully functional and stocked, but likely featuring older cabinetry or original tile work from previous decades.
- PRICING: Usually priced at $259.00 PER NIGHT.
- VALUE PROPOSITION: This is our most popular category for budget-conscious skiers who spend most of their day on the mountain and only require a comfortable, reliable place to cook and sleep.
4. BARE BONES CONDOS: THE ULTIMATE BUDGET OPTION
BEST FOR: Extreme budget-conscious travelers, solo skiers, or those who view their lodging strictly as a "crash pad."
Bare Bones condos are our least expensive rentals. These condos are functional and clean, but they have seen the fewest updates since the property was built.
- INTERIOR STANDARDS: Expect older "vintage" furnishings, original 1960s-style kitchenettes or bathrooms, and a very basic aesthetic.
- NO-FRILLS: Everything works, but nothing is fancy. You are paying for the location and the kitchen, not the decor.
- PRICING: Our most affordable rate, typically $229.00 PER NIGHT.
- DISCLAIMER: Do not book a Bare Bones unit if you are looking for a luxury experience. These are designed for utility and cost-savings.
LOGISTICS AND NON-NEGOTIABLE POLICIES
To ensure a smooth stay, all guests must adhere to the following administrative requirements. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN FINES OR CANCELLATION.
BOOKING REQUIREMENTS
- MINIMUM STAY: We require a 2-NIGHT MINIMUM for all reservations.
- HOLIDAY MINIMUM: During winter holidays, a 3-NIGHT MINIMUM is strictly enforced. We believe the best mountain getaways aren't rushed.
- SAME-DAY BOOKINGS: We DO NOT ACCEPT same-day reservations. All bookings must be confirmed in advance.
PROPERTY RULES
- SMOKING: Smoking of ANY KIND (including vaping) is STRICTLY PROHIBITED inside the units and on the balconies.
- PETS: We maintain a NO PETS policy.
- PARKING: Each reservation is allotted ONE (1) PARKING SPACE in the CCA lot. Parking for additional vehicles is not guaranteed and may be subject to Crystal Mountain Resort's standard parking fees.
- HOUSEKEEPING: We do not provide daily housekeeping or have a 24-hour front desk. We are a condominium property, not a hotel.
CHECK-IN PREPARATION
- CONFIRM GUEST COUNT: Ensure your reservation reflects the exact number of guests.
- CHECK YOUR EMAIL: Access codes and arrival instructions are sent via email. PRINT THESE INSTRUCTIONS or save them for offline access, as cell service can be spotty in the mountains.
- STAIRS NOTICE: Our hillside location involves stairs. If you have mobility concerns, contact us before booking to discuss condo accessibility.
